Matt has been involved with youth & children's ministry for nearly two decades. He has served churches as a volunteer youth leader, Sunday school teacher, a part time youth & children’s minister and as a full time minister (Youth, Family, College & Children). He earned a Master's of Christian Education from Campbell University Divinity School in Buies Creek, North Carolina in 2000.
Matt & Stacey currently live on the windward side of Oahu but enjoy visiting all of the islands in Hawaii. They have one daughter in heaven, Grace, and one adult child, Casey, who lives in North Carolina with her husband Justin and their granddaughter Aja (pronounced like the country Asia).

Matt & Stacey have been serving with CEF of Hawaii since May of 2012. During that time Matt became the interim state coordinator in 2014 and he now currently serves as the state coordinator. Stacey began serving as CEF of Hawaii's office administrator early in 2016. Together they are excited to be serving God in a ministry that is making a difference in the lives of Hawaii's children and families.

Their Journey to Oahu:
In 2010, while on a family vacation for two weeks on the Big Island and one week on Kauai, God broke Matt & Stacey's heart for the children of Hawaii. After an amazing journey God drew them to serve as missionaries with Child Evangelism Fellowship of Hawaii. CEF is an international, interdenominational ministry focused on sharing the Gospel with children around the world. God eventually brought them back to their new home (Hawaii) with a vision that every child on every island can hear the Gospel by the age of twelve. Matt and his wife Stacey have been living and serving here in Hawaii since May of 2012.
Stacey also has a passion for ministering with children, but in her case God has gifted her with a special calling. Stacey discovered late in life a passion and giftedness for teaching children affected by autism spectrum disorder and other special needs. She currently works as an ELL (English Language Learner) teacher at Princess Kaiulani Elementary school and tutors a third grade boy who was born with Down syndrome.
Matt has been serving as the State Coordinator for CEF of Hawaii since January 2014. Having served in the local church setting for many years, Matt is pleased to be able to come alongside of churches and ministers who have a passion for reaching their communities with the Gospel. Matt believes that CEF of Hawaii can have a critical role in helping bring children to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ and possibly sow the seeds of another great revival in Hawaii.
